InShore Fishing Information
Fishing inshore requires you to use a smaller boat. This could be a skiff or center console, dinghy or kayak. You may even be able to swim in shallower waters. The inshore waves are calm and fishing is consistent throughout the year. Because you are so close to shore, fuel and travel costs can be relatively low. This makes inshore fishing more affordable and easier than offshore fishing charter.
While fishing inshore with light or heavy tackle, it is common to use a spinning rod or baitcasting reel. Speckled Trout and Pompano can be targeted using light tackle. This includes a 6.5-7 foot rod with a quick-action tip and 6-12 lb testing line.
There are many techniques you can use to fish inshore depending on the species and season. Still fishing and drifting are the best methods to begin with. These will attract any fish, depending on what baits and lures you use. Fly rods can be used to catch almost all inshore species, including Redfish, Bonefish, and Sharks.
Bottom fishing can produce Flounder, small bottom-feeding Sharks and trolling can catch Barracuda and other species. Popping attracts Giant Trevally. In some areas of Florida, Snook fishing is a speciality. This involves using light tackle and a fly rod to target this species at night. Anglers love sight casting in shallow, clear water for Redfish, Bonefish, and Cobia. You can watch your catch from beginning to end and see all the action.
Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit are some of the most sought-after inshore game fish on the planet. Giant Trevally is also a highly sought-after fish. Although many of these species are smaller than offshore game fish, they can reach up to 100 lbs. The most notable being the Tarpon, which is said to weigh more than 250 lbs.

Extended Inshore Charter: 6 hour/3-day charter that allows you to fish multiple spots in the inlet. Redfish, flounder, trout and black drum are all targets.
4 hour half-day inshore charter: You will fish the creeks and backwaters of the inlet, with occasional offshore opportunities. Redfish, trout and black drum are all targets. There may also be Spanish Mackerel or King Mackerel in the area. Cobia, Flounder and sharks are also possible.
